After a successful inaugural charity car show last year, a local retirement residence has decided to host another one — and make it even bigger and better at a new location.

From 12 to 4 p.m. on September 15, Sorrento Retirement Residence will host a charity car show at the Ann & Samuel Sterne Municipal Parking Lot in Downtown Bolton.

The car show will raise money for local non-profit Meaghan's Music Room, which provides subsidized music and dance classes for individuals with physical and neurological challenges.

The event will also feature live music and activities for kids at the Humber River Centre, which is just across the road from the parking lot where all the cars will be shown off.

Desiree Nicolini, Director of Sales and Marketing for Sorrento Retirement Residence, said last year's car show featured over 70 cars.

“We're expecting an even bigger event this year… it's going to be awesome,” she said.

Nicolini said Sorrento Retirement Residence is proud to support Meaghan's Music Room as it's a fixture in the Bolton community that so many families have been supported by. She said music is such a powerful force for good in people's lives.

Mary Balinov, co-founder of Meaghan's Music Room, said she was thrilled to learn Sorrento Retirement Residence wanted to host another charity car show this year.

“Last year the turnout of cars was so great that we decided to move downtown so we can accommodate more cars and more people coming out to see them,” she said. “We're excited to raise money for Meaghan's Music Room, it's such a worthy cause.”

Those interested in showing off their car, sponsoring the car show, or learning more about it can reach out to Sorrento Retirement Residence at 647-317-7242 or Balinov at 905 951-7416.
