Bolton Chiropractic finish on top in men’s leagueBolton Chiropractic Centre skated to a 7-2 win over Fines Ford Lincoln last Monday and took home the Caledon Senior Hockey League's regular-season title. The Bonebenders finished the season with a 16-5-3 record and 35 points, seven ahead of the second-place finishers, Heart Lake Insurance. The Heart Lake crew nailed down second place with an 11-3 shellacking of Jiffy Lube Oilers. Rutherford Global Logistics downed Yale Industrial Trucks 7-5. The teams now look to the playoff round-robins. Bolton Chiropractic 7, Fines Ford 2 Team sponsor Mike Shore massaged his stick for five points for the Chiropractors on one goal and four assists. Also with the hot hand was Gary Moss with two goals and two assists. The other goals were scored by Nick Taccogna, Bob McHardy, George Armstrong and Sam Genova, who also had an assist. Ted Callighen set up three goals while Jim Horan was in brackets on two. Paul Speck and Kyle Smith each had a goal and an assist for Fines. Dave Armstrong had one assist. Heart Lake 11, Jiffy Lube 3 Heart Lake goes into the playoffs riding a four-game winning streak. Greg Frangakas led the way for them with two goals and three assists. Right behind him was team rep Ian Kerr with two goals and two assists. Frank Cirone added two goals and one assist, while Santo Gazzolla also scored a pair of goals. Rod Sinclair had the other goal. Three players had three assists — Tony Dinis, Jack Gibson and Joe Maiolino. Luch Pinarello notched a pair of assists while Joe Guaragna had one. Carlo Fantin scored twice for Jiffy Lube while team sponsor Brian Fetterly had the other goal. Bill Doherty and team rep Garry Hoxey each had two assists. Larry Pevato had a single assist. Rutherford 7, Yale 5 Maurizo Giorgio scored a power-play goal with 1:32 left in the game to secure the win for Rutherford. He finished with a goal and two assists, as did Bret Smith. John Pitsadiotis, Joe Palumbo and Steve Tarasco each bagged a goal and an assist. The other goals were scored by Rick Geiger and David Shoalts. Single assists went to Gary Stewart, Howard Wight and Gary Hughes. Ron Sampson and Bruno Fracassi powered the Yale offence with one goal and three assists each. Garth Young fired a goal and two assists. Team rep Rich Petrie had a goal and an assist. Greg Twinney scored the other goal. Bill Davis had one helper. |
