BFC hosts its annual open house
The weather was a little ominous, but there was still a good crowd out recently for the annual open house at Brampton Flight Centre. There were displays and re-enactments at the open house. Ben Snetsinger, Craig Williams and David Freeman were providing re-enactment of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. Photos by Bill Rea
Neil Anderson of Cheltenham was flying the SE 5A (left) while Mike Smith of Milton was at the controls of the Fokker DRI, as they re-enacted the shooting down of the Red Baron (Manfred von Richthofen). There is debate as to whether the Baron was shot down from the air or ground. One of the theories is his assailant was Canadian Captain Roy Brown. There were also men fring from the ground, representing the re-enactment of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry.
The Great War Flying Museum had some of its aircraft on display, including this British SE 5A. Harrison Yurek, 2, of Guelph was able to get a feel for the cockpit.
Representatives of the Great War Flying Museum performed this flypass during the open house.
The attractions included some interesting specimens from Bird Control Services Inc. Rita Watermann was showing this nine-year-old great horned owl named Hewlitt to Justin Watts, 10, of Hillsburgh.
