Bandits Junior C team hosting 2014 try-outs

By Brian Lockhart
Junior C lacrosse will be getting under way next month with the Caledon Bandits currently working on putting together their roster for the 2014 season.
This will be the Bandits' seventh season in the OJCLL.
The Junior C squad is hosting a series of try-out sessions in April with exhibition play slated for two games April 29 and 30.
The Bandits are coming off a good 2013 session. They ended the regular campaign in third place finish in the West Division of the Ontario Junior C Lacrosse League and a 9-7 record; good for 18 points. That was a six place finish over all in the 16 team OJCLL.
Going into the 2013 playoffs, the Bandits dispatched Innisfil in the first round. They ended the year with a loss to Hamilton in the second round after playing four games of a best of five series.
The 2014 season will feature two new entries in the league. Six Nations, who are well represented in other lacrosse leagues, will have the Warriors entered this season, and the Oakville Hawks will also be a new entry in OJCLL.
The only team not returning is the squad from Huntsville, who won't have a team entered for this coming season.
The Bandits will have a 16-game schedule; eight on the road and eight at-home games.
The squad is switching venues this season. The first six home games being played at the Albion-Bolton arena and the final two games being played at Mayfield arena with home games all being played Tuesday evenings.
The season and home opener will get under way in Bolton May 6, when the Bandits host Fergus.
Game time is 8 p.m.
