Baffo’s Athletes of the Week — Oct. 31, 2013
Mayfield Secondary School Tess Routliffe This Grade 10 student showed lots of prowess recently in the para division of cross country running, coming in third overall and first among the girls at ROPSSAA. She will be competing in OFSAA Saturday in Sudbury. Away from school, she swims for the Dorado Stars. The 15-year-old lives in Strawberry Fields with her parents Rob Routliffe and Cath McLennan.
Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School Chris Bean This 17-year-old has been hot lately on the golf course. He shot a 74 to win at ROPSSAA, than tied for 39th at OFSAA. He plays at Mayfield Golf Club, where he also helps manage the Pro Shop. He also used to play soccer in the Bolton Wanderers' organization. The Grade 12 student lives in Caledon East with his parents Caroline and David Bean.
St. Michael Catholic Secondary School Marina Baldassare This Grade 11 student is a guard on the school's undefeated senior girls' basketball team, which is looking to nail down first place. She was also on the school's Frisbee team last year. Away from school, she plays basketball in the Caledon Cougars' organization. The 16-year-old lives in Bolton with her parents Catherine and Ugo Baldassrae.
Humberview Secondary School Ali Jordan This 14-year-old has been showing her speed in cross-country running, coming in sixth at ROPSSAA. She will be competing at OFSAA this weekend. She also plans to go out for decathlon in track and field in the spring. As well, she finds time for skiing in the winter. The Grade 9 student lives in Bolton with her parents Natasha and Trevor Jordan.
