Baffo’s Athletes of the Week — Oct. 10, 2013
Mayfield Secondary School Sean-Douglas Murray This 15-year-old has been holding down the middle position for the junior boys' volleyball team, which has won its first two matches, taking five of six sets. He was also a small forward on the school's basketball team. He plays volleyball and basket ball away from school. The Grade 10 student lives in Brampton with his parents Tracey and Wilton Murray.
Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School Brittney Gout This Grade 9 student has been playing quarterback for the school's flag football team, which has compiled a 1-1 record so far in the season. She's also hoping to play hockey and basketball this year. In the community, she plays centre in the Brampton Canadettes hockey organization and is a forward in lacrosse for the Guelph Regals. The 14-year-od lives in the Campbell's Cross area with her parents Peter and Tammy Gout.
St. Michael Catholic Secondary School Jordan Piccinin This 16-year-old plays power for the school's varsity volleyball team. He played for the school's soccer team last year, but hasn't decided if he'll go out for it this year. Away from school, the soccer player is a striker for Winstars Academy in Woodbridge. The Grade 12 student lives in Bolton with his parents Mauro and Melissa Piccinin.
Humberview Secondary School Kurtis Dean This Grade 11 student has been showing his prowess in singles tennis, winning in his devision. He'll be competing at ROPSSAA in a couple of weeks. In the community, he's a defenceman in the TNT Tornadoes organization, and plays and coaches at Palgrave Tennis Club. The 16-year-old lives in Palgrave with his parents Steve Dean and Jeanette Brown.
