Baffo’s Athletes of the Week — Dec. 5, 2013


Mayfield Secondary School Haleigh McKeown This 16-year-old is a setter for the senior girls' volleyball team, which won its first tournament of the season. She was also a point guard for the senior girls' basketball team and plays rugby in the spring. Away from school, she plays volleyball with Pakmen Volleyball Club in Mississauga. The Grade 11 student lives in Brampton with her parents Laurie and Marc McKeown.

Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School Nick Ristucci This Grade 13 student was a safety on the championship senior boys' football team, contributing an interception in the championship match. He also plays football with the Orangeville Outlaws, and used to play soccer and hockey in the community. The 18-year-old lives in Valleywood with his parents Geraldine and Bruno Ristucci.

He also played offside on the school's senior volleyball team, and plans to play soccer in the spring. In the community, he plays soccer in the Bolton Wanderers' organization. The Grade 12 student lives in Bolton with his father Jabel Ribeiro.

Away from school, she plays hockey for the North York Storm and lacrosse for Brampton Excelsiors. The 15-year-old lives in Bolton with her parents Kim and Tom Charteris.
