AUTHOR AT SIGNING

AUTHOR AT SIGNING Local author A.E. Payne was on hand at Terra Cotta Inn recently, signing copies of his book Travels: The Last Time I Was In Jail and Other Short Stories. It is true that he spent time in Honor Rancho, north of Valencia in California, training staff there how to operate a water treatment plant. The 76-year-old retired electrician said he's been writing ever since he started travelling years ago, compiling stories which he brought together after retiring. The work was published by First Choice Books out of Victoria, B.C. in March, and he said a second edition is being considered. Photo by Bill Rea
