Athletes of the Week
Mayfield Secondary School Tara Routliffe This Grade 11 student has been holding down the left side position for the senior girls' volleyball team, which compiled a 2-0 record before the holidays. She also plays out of the Defensa Volleyball Club in Burlington. The 16-year-old lives in Strawberry Fields. Her parents are Robert Routliffe and Catherine MacLennan.
Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School Nicholas Stuckless This 15-year-old plays centre for the school's varsity hockey team, which went into the Christmas break with an undefeated record. He's also played power for the junior boys' volleyball team, and hopes to play attack on the lacrosse team in the spring. Away from school, he plays hockey with the Halton Hurricanes and lacrosse in the Orangeville Northmen organization. The Grade 10 student lives in Orangeville. His parents are Jessy and Clyde Stuckless.
St. Michael Catholic Secondary School Jocelyn Coulombe This Grade 9 student has been playing middle for the junior girls' volleyball team, which had a 1-1 record at the Christmas break. She's also planning to play badminton in the spring. In the community, she plays centre in house league for the Caledon Coyotes and also competes with the Caledon Soccer Club. The 14-year-old lives in Bolton with her parents Karen and Robert Coulombe.
Humberview Secondary School Hayden Gorman This 17-year-old is part of the school's Nordic team, and he led the side in the first meet of the season. He was also on the senior boys' volleyball team, and contributed last year to the school's golf team and played catcher on the baseball squad. Away from school, he's a defenceman in the Caledon Hawks organization and used to play with the Bolton Braves. The Grade 12 student lives in Caledon with his parents Kevin and Gayle Gorman.
