Arrests in break-in investigations


Two Brampton residents are facing charges after investigations into numerous break-ins in the area.
The investigations involved Caledon OPP, as well as OPP detachments in Nottawasaga and Wellington and Halton Regional Police, and had been going on since May 21. The break-ins resulted in losses of more than $10,000.
Caledon OPP reports the Caledon Street Crime Unit, through their investigation, was able to identify suspects and a suspect vehicle. Members of the unit, also with Halton Regional officers, found suspects last Thursday, and they were in the possession of break in tools behind a commercial business.
One of the suspects, aged 31, has been charged with six counts of breaking and entering, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of break-in instruments, possession a disguise with intent and failing to comply with a recognizance order. The other is a 45-year-old man who's charged with six counts of breaking and entering, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of break-in instruments.
