Annual Caledon Community Services’ Santa Fund has begun againThe holiday season is here, a time full of joy and excitement, shopping, dining with family and friends and the official start of the 33rd annual Caledon Community Services' Santa Fund. Since 1982, the Santa Fund has created opportunities to support people in the Caledon community. Monetary donations allow CCS to assist with fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, meat and poultry; home heating; medical prescriptions; emergency expenses; and counselling. Last year, Santa Fund donors and sponsors provided a happy holiday season and year-round support for more than 300 children and over 200 families. “We have set our largest goal in our community's history because the demand from families needing support in Caledon is larger than ever before,” commented CCS CEO Monty Laskin. “Our goal is $185,000 to support families over the holidays and to ensure that CCS provides services all year long.” For those wanting to register for support, contact Lori at 905-584-2300 ext. 201 before Dec. 10. Donations of food and toys can be dropped off at Santa's Workshop at The Exchange, at 55 Healey Rd., Unit 10, Bolton until Dec. 10. Santa's Workshop at The Exchange will be open to receive gifts, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, Thursdays until 6 p.m. and Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All Santa Fund financial donations can be made throughout the holiday season, online at www.ccs4u.org or by contacting Nicole Dumanski, at 905-584-2300 ext. 236 or at ndumanski@ccs4u.org CCS needs a united community effort, as a shortfall will compromise their ability to support day-to-day living for hundreds of Caledon families in the year ahead. |
