The Bolton Rotary Club is excited to be hosting one of the first golf tournaments of the year: its annual Charity Golf Tournament.  This year, it's taking place on Thursday, May 18 at the Woodington Lake Golf Club in Tottenham. Tickets for the tournament are $175 per person and can be purchased online at boltonrotarygolf.ca. Tickets include a round of golf, a cart, box lunch, on-course food sampling, closing reception, and more.  Karen Fast of Bolton Rotary said golfers are always eager to get out on the course for the Rotary tournament and that most years there is great weather for the event. “It's a great day to get out on the golf course and do some good for the community,” said Fast. “The golf tournament is one of our major fundraisers.” A popular charity golf tournament is returning to Caledon Woods Golf & Country Club in Bolton. On June 20, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel York (BBBSPY) will host “The BIG Tee Off” at the club. Those familiar with the BBBSPY will notice the name of the tournament has changed from “Golf for Kids' Sake.” Funds raised at the tournament will go towards BBBSPY's mentoring programs and services for youth in Peel and York Regions. Important to note is BBBSPY is always looking for volunteer mentors who want to make a difference. BBBSPY's 2022 golf tournament was a big success and tickets to it sold out quickly. This year, tickets have been selling fast as well and as of March 31, just 26 were left available. The tournament will feature a shotgun start, where groups will start their game at each hole on the course, then play through and back to the hole before where they started. This way, everyone is able to start and finish their games at the same time. The tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. and players will receive a breakfast they can take with them onto the course. After the day's playing has finished, there will be a lunch and reception at the Country Club, as well as a silent auction. Lori Plati, Public Relations Manager for BBBSPY, said the golf tournament is one of the non-profit's signature fundraisers. Sponsorship opportunities are still available, from hole sponsorships all the way up to higher-tier sponsorships. Plati said the shotgun start and reception will be a lot of fun for golfers as this was not possible during the COVID-19 pandemic. “It'll be really fun to have everyone together and it just makes a nicer experience,” said Plati. “We have our regular people that are supportive of our golf tournament, and we also have some new people coming in this year as well.” To register for The BIG Tee Off or to sponsor it, those interested can visit peel.bigbrothersbigsisters.ca/event/golf-classic. --------------------------------------------------- Images: --------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Post date: 2023-04-05 19:37:17 Post date GMT: 2023-04-05 23:37:17 Post modified date: 2023-04-05 19:37:34 Post modified date GMT: 2023-04-05 23:37:34 ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Export of Post and Page as text file has been powered by [ Universal Post Manager ] plugin from www.gconverters.com
