The Headwaters Equine Leadership Group looks forward to welcoming visitors to the region with the Headwaters Parade of Horses, a whimsical and unique series of outdoor horse sculptures transformed through the creativity of talented artisans. The Headwaters Parade of Horses statues will be displayed throughout the region during the Games. The Headwaters Equine Leadership Group is looking for artists to bring these magnificent sculptures to life. Consideration for this program is open to all artists (individual or groups) and the deadline for submissions is 11:55 p.m. April 6. Visit HeadwatersHorseCountry.ca for program criteria/restrictions and to register for consideration. Along with highlighting the majesty of the horse and showcasing the talent of local artists, the Headwaters Parade of Horses is also an opportunity for individuals or businesses to own a one-of-a-kind horse sculpture. Each horse statue is approximately five feet tall (or 15 hands), six feet long, and weighs approximately 250 pounds, and are available for purchase for $3,500. These horses will be displayed in prominent locations across the region from June through to August, and will be transported to their rightful purchasers late August and September. The parade was mentioned last Thursday by Caledon's Director of Parks and Recreation Laura Johnston as she outlined the progress being made in getting ready for the Games to the quarterly meeting of the SouthFields Village Residents' Group. She likened the horses to the Moose in the City program started about 15 years ago by then Toronto Mayor Mel Lastman. --------------------------------------------------- Images: https://caledoncitizen.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/11-horse-5.5-197x300.jpg --------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Post date: 2015-04-01 16:26:46 Post date GMT: 2015-04-01 20:26:46 Post modified date: 2015-04-02 10:48:35 Post modified date GMT: 2015-04-02 14:48:35 ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Export of Post and Page as text file has been powered by [ Universal Post Manager ] plugin from www.gconverters.com
