So the conditions were perfect for the fifth annual Alton Millpond Hockey Classic. Mayor Marolyn Morrison and famed NHL Linesman Ray Scapinello officiated in this mass faceoff, surrounded by young hockey players and local dignitaries.Photo by Bill Rea Students from Alton Public School were on hand to sing the two anthems; O Canada and The Hockey Song (The good old hockey game). Ray Scapinello whistled this play dead in a match Super Six players from Caledon and Erin-Hillsburgh. The game went down to a long shoot-out before the Caledon guys prevailed. Caledon firefighters were in action against a team made up of Caledon Notables for the Alton Mill Pond Cup. In the end, the Notables prevailed 22-13. Women players took to the ice in a friendly match.
