A large tent was set up with food and drinks to welcome guests, and many restored vehicles and machines were on display in the yard. James Dick Construction was founded in 1964 by James Dick and has grown from a small enterprise to become a major employer in Caledon and a leader in the aggregate industry. It also has a legacy of charitable giving in the Caledon community. At the anniversary celebration, Ward 6 Councillor Cosimo Napoli gave a presentation on behalf of Caledon Mayor Annette Groves, who could not attend the event.  “For six decades, James Dick Construction has been a cornerstone of the growth and development in our region, contributing not only to the infrastructure but also the prosperity of our community,” said Napoli. “Your commitment to quality, innovation and sustainability has shaped the landscape we see today.” Dufferin-Caledon MP Kyle Seeback said James Dick Construction's success is thanks to hard work. “What you have… is a family that has put their blood, sweat and tears into building something that has benefited our entire community,” said Seeback. He said James Dick Construction sets a great example by being a successful business that gives so much back to the community it works in. “Thank you so much for everything you've done to build this company and give back to our community,” said Seeback. Dufferin-Caledon MPP Sylvia Jones also commended James Dick Construction's charitable legacy.  “I don't think there is a not-for-profit in Caledon that hasn't benefited from James Dick Construction,” said Jones.
