Employees, former employees, non-profit leaders, politicians, friends and family came out to celebrate James Dick Construction's 60th anniversary last week.

On September 6, a 60th anniversary celebration was held at James Dick's Bolton location. A large tent was set up with food and drinks to welcome guests, and many restored vehicles and machines were on display in the yard.

James Dick Construction was founded in 1964 by James Dick and has grown from a small enterprise to become a major employer in Caledon and a leader in the aggregate industry. It also has a legacy of charitable giving in the Caledon community.

At the anniversary celebration, Ward 6 Councillor Cosimo Napoli gave a presentation on behalf of Caledon Mayor Annette Groves, who could not attend the event.

“For six decades, James Dick Construction has been a cornerstone of the growth and development in our region, contributing not only to the infrastructure but also the prosperity of our community,” said Napoli. “Your commitment to quality, innovation and sustainability has shaped the landscape we see today.”

Dufferin-Caledon MP Kyle Seeback said James Dick Construction's success is thanks to hard work.

“What you have… is a family that has put their blood, sweat and tears into building something that has benefited our entire community,” said Seeback.

He said James Dick Construction sets a great example by being a successful business that gives so much back to the community it works in.

“Thank you so much for everything you've done to build this company and give back to our community,” said Seeback.

Dufferin-Caledon MPP Sylvia Jones also commended James Dick Construction's charitable legacy.

“I don't think there is a not-for-profit in Caledon that hasn't benefited from James Dick Construction,” said Jones.

Geraldine Aguiar, CEO of Caledon Community Services (CCS), said the non-profit is grateful for the ongoing support of James Dick Construction.

“Your unwavering commitment perfectly embodies the shared values of the community that we are proud to call home and the spirit of neighbour helping neighbour,” she said. “As local business leaders and dedicated community supporters, the contributions from James Dick Construction have been nothing short of transformative.”

Nicole Hand, Executive Firector of the Bethell Hospice Foundation, shared that she's incredibly grateful for the continued support from James Dick Construction.

“You have stepped up for hikes, for fashion shows, for golf tournaments… I want to thank you very much on behalf of Bethell Hospice,” said Hand. “Thank you for all you do to support hospice palliative care.”
