An upcoming gala will raise money to subsidize music and dance classes for individuals with physical and neurological challenges.

On April 26, local non-profit Meaghan's Music Room will host its second annual gala dinner and dance at Caesar's in Bolton.

The gala will be one of the first to be held at the newly-renovated Caesar's building at 12495 Highway 50.

The gala will feature silent and live auctions, a 50/50 draw, an open bar, dinner and dancing.

Tickets for the event are $135 and can be purchased by emailing meaghansroom@gmail.com or texting 416-509-0321.

Mary Balinov operates Tisho's Music Academy with her family in Bolton. In the Academy is Meaghan's Music room, where classes are held for individuals with physical and neurological challenges.

Balinov said the newly-renovated Caesar's Centre building looks absolutely stunning and she's excited to be hosting the gala there.

“It's the perfect venue for us,” she said.

Balinov said with this being the second gala, she hopes to see increased attendance and sponsorship to build off the first one. Sponsorship opportunities are available for the gala and more information about them can be found online at meaghansmusicroom.ca.

Balinov said she's incredibly grateful for any sponsorship and said sponsors will have their logos displayed at the gala and online.

Something new at this year's gala is the fact that participants in Meaghan's Music Room dance and music classes will perform on stage.

“People will see not only what they're learning, but what they're capable of,” said Balinov. “It will display the benefits.”

Balinov said she's looking forward to having a successful event.

“Anything that surpasses our results from last year… that gets us close to our $25,000 goal would be very inspirational for us,” she said. “We hate to turn anyone down and people are asking for more classes… we need to find the funds to make it work.”

Having demand to grow is a good problem to have, said Balinov, adding the success of this year's gala is crucial.

“We have seen a substantial demand for growth,” said Balinov.
