EARLY-BIRD WINNER IN HOSPICE DRAW The early-bird draws in the Bethell Hospice Foundation Caring for Our Community Lottery took place Canada Day at the Caledon Strawberry Festival, and it was time last week to present the cheques. Councillor Johanna Downey was the winner of $2,500 (which she presented back to Hospice) and Kim Clarkson won $1,000. The grand prize, a 2016 Lincoln MKC SUV, will be presented at Bolton Fair Sept. 24. Last week's presentation took place outside the Bethell Hospice facility in Inglewood. On hand were Danila Maric of Scotiabank (a sponsor of the lottery); George Ledson of Cavalier Transportation Services Inc. (a sponsor of the lottery); Bob Fines of Fines Ford Lincoln (a sponsor of the lottery); Downey; Clarkson; Jesse Morgenroth-Rebin, a student with Bethell Hospice; Mary Smith, a nurse at the facility; Jacqueline Fulham, volunteer coordinator; Kamaljeet Dhillon, administrative assistant at Bethell Hospice; Debbie DeRoode, corporate volunteer; and Jeannette Vandenheuvel, director of development with the Bethell hospice Foundation.
