Bolton Fall Fair returns this weekend

The Bolton Fall Fair will be running for the 164th time this weekend, with the theme of “Memories of Bolton Past.”

Held annually at the Albion Bolton Fairgrounds at 150 Queen Street South, the fair is a cornerstone of the Caledon community.

This year’s fair runs from Friday, September 23 to Sunday, September 25, though Thursday night toonie midway rides are available from 6 to 10:30 p.m. on September 22. Admission to the fairgrounds is free on Thursday night). 

Tickets to the fair for adults are $20 if purchased online at boltontractorpull.ca. Tickets can be purchased at the gate to the fair as well, but will cost $25. Tickets for children 12 and under, accompanied by an adult, are $10, and preschoolers are free.

On Sunday, ticket prices drop to $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under accompanied by an adult.

The highlight of Friday night will be the truck and tractor pull, which begins at 6 p.m. on the track. Buildings will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, and the midway rides will be available from 4 to 10:30 p.m.

Saturday is the biggest and longest day of the fair, as things get started at 8 a.m. and don’t finish until 10 p.m.

There’s a massive amount of things to see and do on Saturday, including: Cow plop bingo, sheep shearing demonstrations, canine watersports, the midway, local bands, a craft beer festival, free pony rides, demolition derby, open dairy show, kiddie pedal pull, spaghetti eating contest, arm wrestling competition, and more.

The fun begins at 8 a.m. again on Sunday with a pancake breakfast followed by a 9:30 a.m. community church service. Another full day is planned, with attractions such as: The baby show, goat demonstrations, milking competition, pet show, tug of war, Tiger Paws Petting Zoo, midway, and more.
