Few surprises in ball hockey

After four nights of action in the round-robing post-season play in the Inglewood Ball Hockey League, things are pretty much going as expected.
There have been a few upsets, but George’s Arena Sports is maintaining the perfect record they’ve sported all year.

George’s took control from the opening face-off and didn’t look back all night.
Scoring for George’s were Shawn Alonto from Jake Lake and Adam Biastrocci, Dan Wood from Joey Lemos, Travis Watts from Biastrocci, Biastrocci from Lemos and Brad Crawford, Alonto from Mike Desmarais and Lemos, Jason Duncan from Watts and Alonto, and Lake from Desmarais.

Ron’s took on where George’s left off Tuesday playing hard against a short-benched Carney Crew.
Ron’s runners were Cory Atwater from Noel Fortner, Alex Boughan from Fortner, Taylor Elkins from Boughan, Jon Batten from Atwater and Chris Gikov, and Boughan from Fortner. Carney pumpers were Shawn Lane from Ryan Zimmerman, and Mark Olesen-Varnell from Zimmerman and Matt Henderson.

In a crazy affair, with goals being scored on a regular basis, Mr. Handyman got the win and the lion’s share of markers.
Net nabbers for Mr. Handyman were Anthony Villari from Chris Strife and Chris Mete, Sonny Dillhon from Mete, Mete from Villari and Strife, Luigi D’Agostino from Donato Dorazio, Mete from Strife, Dillhon from Strife and Mete, Matt Scida from Dillhon, Strife from Ferdinando Colella and Nick Franseze, and Strife (unassisted). Caledon Hills go-to guys were Albert Bettridge (unassisted), Kelvin Young (unassisted), Kyle Dalcin from Dave Philips and Bettridge, and Philips from Dalcin.

In a wild affair, Ron’s Tire exploded with five in the third to get the win.
Caledon Hills go-to guys were Young from Peter Anselmi, Dalcin from Philips, Brandon Sinclair from Philips, Travis Cassar (unassisted) and Dalcin (unassisted). Ron’s rollers were Elkins (three goals and an assist), Boughan (two goals and two assists), Nick Brouillette (an assist), Ryan Frangakis (a goal), Fortner (an assist), Nolan Pearce (one assist) and Kyle Miledi (a goal and two assists).

George’s came to life in the third frame, taking advantage of the short-benched Carney crew and netting all of their goals.
Joey Lemos from Crawford, Jozef Neu from Lemos and Biastrocci, Matt McNally from Biastrocci, Jon Desmarais from Jessie Lemos, and Biastrocci from Joey Lemos got the points for George’s.

Mr. Handyman 2
We Are Creative came out strong and stayed that way throughout the game and took it all with the win.
We Are goal getters were Steven DeFrancesco from Mike Spagnuolo and John West-Carvalho, Alex Schittenhelm (unassisted), Cody Doiron from Mike Tarasco and Dom Klosowski, Doiron (unassisted), Schittenhelm from Doiron, Schittenhelm (unassisted), and Doiron from West-Carvalho. Handyman hitters were Villari (unassisted) and Mike Bozzo from Chris Della Mora and Villari.

In a match that saw tempers flare and a steady march to sin bin, Carney were able to pot one a period and get the win.
Carney twine ticklers were Todd Elson from Zimmerman, Zimmerman from Derek Carroll and Olesen Varnell, and Chris Chidwick (unassisted). Handyman’s lone lamp lighter was Val Melo from Dillhon and Mike Chiarantano.

In a close match, both teams played hard and turned up the heat.
We Are got their Creativity with Anthony Fera from Cody Doiron and West-Carvalho, Doiron from Rob Silvestri and West-Carvalho, Silvestri from Philip DeFrancesco, and West-Carvalho from Steven DeFrancesco and Doiron. Caledon Hills Cycling peddlers were Cody Fines from Cassar, and Cassar from Fines.

George’s continued on their roll with a win over Ron’s.
George’s go-to guys were Biastrocci from Joey Lemos and McNally, Neu from Biastrocci and Lemos, Biastrocci from Andy Sant, Jesse Lemos from Lake and Mike Desmarais, Biastrocci from Joey Lemos, and Duncan from Travis Watts and Greg Dodwell.
Ron’s Tire wheelers were Jonathan Batten (unassisted), and Frangakis from Miledi.
July 8

In a close match, that saw the final two minutes needed to decide a winner, both teams played hard and well with George’s able to net the extra.
George’s go-to guys were Jessie Lemos from Lake, Alonto from Joey Lemos, Biastrocci from Joey Lemos, and Lake from Jessie Lemos and Sant. Caledon Hills gamers were Josh Rowland from Kurt Snell and Ian Dunn, Young (unassisted) and Daniel Mulhern from Dalcin.

In a hot-tempered affair, Mr. Handyman were able to hold on for the win after falling behind 2-0 in the first.
Handyman hammers were dropped by D’Agostino from Bozzo and Chiarantano, Scida from Justin Fiorino and Della Mora, Bozzo from Nick Stabili and Scida, Bozzo (unassisted), and Mike Volpe from Scida. Ron’s Tire rollers were Pearce from Atwater, Fortner (unassisted), Atwater from Fortner and Cameron Batten, and Fortner (unassisted).

Neither team could best the other this night, with both sides playing hard and trading chances.
We Are took a 2-1 lead into the third until Carney tied it up, then We Are took the lead back and Carney tied it up for good late in the third. We Are goal getters were Luca Raga from Silvestri and Doiron, Doiron (unassisted), and Matt Geiser from Raga and Philip DeFrancesco. Carney mesh mashers were Jordan Rothfuchs from Chidwick and Zimmerman, Ricki Minhas from David Rothfuchs and Brian Dunn, and Don Crowe from J. Rothfuchs and Will Crowe.
