Town to mark one year before Games

The Town of Caledon will be hosting a celebration to mark one year before the start of the 2015 Pan American Games.
It will be July 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Caledon Equestrian Park.
The free festivities will offer something for everyone. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the park!
Participate in activities that represent the Pan American countries, such as dancing to the sounds of Steelpan Revolution and Viva Mexico Mariachi Band. Watch presentations by the Peel Aboriginal Network as well as sport demonstrations that will be presented at the Games. Tour the world-class equestrian facility, which is the venue for the TO2015 Pan Am/ParaPan Am Games equestrian events.
The Family Fun Ring will include activities inspired by Pan Am sports, such as rhythmic gymnastics, goal ball, bocce ball, horseless show jumping and basketball.
The Community and Sports Ring will host the TO2015 Pan Am Community Tour, featuring Pachi, the TO2015 official mascot, as well as the opportunity to try a Pan/ParaPan Am sport. Local school contributions will be showcased, as well as community display booths and demonstrations from local sports groups.
Caledon Equestrian Park is at 200 Pine Ave. in Palgrave and has a fully functioning restaurant on-site where signature food items from Pan American countries will be featured.
