The Caledon Junior C Bandits will advance to the second round of the Ontario Lacrosse Association Junior C playoffs after knocking out Innisfil in the first round.
The Bandits took care of Innisfil in three games, winning the first outing 8-5, then taking the second by a score of 9-8. They wrapped it up last Monday (July 22) with a 13-10 win to take the series and advance to the next round.
They will now face the Hamilton Bengals.
The Bengals defeated the Shelburne Vets in the first round to advance.
This promises to be a challenging series for both squads.
Caledon ended the regular season with a 9-7 record; good for 18 points after 16 games, and a third-place finish in the OJCLL West Division.
Hamilton finished the regular season with a 10-4-2 record and 22 points.
In other series, the first-place Halton Hills Bulldogs are playing Wilmot and currently leading that series 1-0.
The Caledon-Hamilton series got underway Tuesday in Hamilton. Game two is also scheduled for Hamilton tonight (Thursday). The series will return to Mayfield Arena in Caledon tomorrow (Friday) for game three.
The game is scheduled for an 8:30 p.m. start.
