A local massage therapist has opened up a new clinic in Caledon Village, known as Mountainview Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Clinic.

Owner Ricky Madan has launched his clinic the first week of September, and is thrilled to be a part of the local business community. Madan is a registered massage therapist by trade, along with being a physiotherapist back in India.

“I moved to Canada in 2017, and due to the different physiotherapy regulations in Canada, I decided to pursue something new for a change: massage therapy. In 2018, I became a registered massage therapist, and since then, I have treated hundreds of clients,” Madan explained. “I have worked in many clinics before, but I had always believed that a clinic should be more welcoming, with the primary goal to help clients feel the relief. I wanted to make that difference, so I figured the best way to do so was to open my own clinic.”

Madan has always had a fascination in musculoskeletal anatomy, also know as the skeleton system and the parts that come along with it including muscles, tendons, ligaments and other tissues. With his passion and profound interest, he has felt dedicated to help people.

He believes that he can make an impact in helping people with their physiotherapy and rehabilitation needs.

“I have seen many individuals that need help, but they never had the right resources accessible to them. I chose this industry because I believe that I can make a significant impact to improve the overall quality of my clients’ lives,” he said.  “I hope to make sure that by adding my team to this industry, not only will we be able to serve more individuals that need help, but to also serve them better.”

When Madan and his team sorted a plan of services to provide for residents, they made sure to conduct research on the area they were looking at opening up a clinic in. Madan claimed he was shocked to see the lack of rehabilitation clinics in Caledon Village.

As he resides nearby, Caledon Village became the perfect location for his clinic.

“I felt obligated to contribute my resources to a community that has already given me so much,” he said.

“I strongly believe that there is a need for physiotherapy and rehabilitation care in Caledon,” Madan continued. “Many of the residents around Caledon, are geriatric, athletes, disabled, and require rehabilitative help but don’t have the ability to travel down to Brampton or deeper into Caledon to access rehabilitative care. Even individuals that need regular preventative treatment or treatment to improve everyday function require a local clinic that is easily accessible to them.”

The clinic offers services that are helpful for all issues and to improve everyone’s daily functions. These include physiotherapy, massage therapy, osteopathy, orthotics, compression stockings, braces and acupuncture.

Madan states that physiotherapy is for everybody stating, “Whether it is strained day-to-day workers, sore pregnant mothers or athletes dealing with muscular pain and discomfort.”

Madan and his team at Mountainview Physiotherapy Clinic are excited to begin treating new clients and meeting members of the community.

“My favourite part of my job is meeting new clients in the neighbourhood that are grateful for having a local and accessible clinic,” expressed Madan. “Having them visit with a smile, and leave with an even bigger smile, I’m glad that my clinic is achieving its goal of helping everyone feel the relief.”

Just like most, if not all local businesses, Madan’s clinic has had their share of difficulties, especially opening up while in a global pandemic. But on the bright side, they are confident and are taking the necessary safety precautions to keep themselves and the community safe.

We understand that it is a difficult time to open and run a clinic. However, my team is adverse, and we recognize that our clients’ safety is a priority. We ensure that all clients and employees are screened, temperature-checked, wear masks, and are thoroughly sanitized prior to entering the clinic,” Madan explained. “After our clients leave, we clean and sanitize all applicable areas. We are following all necessary precautions required by the health officials to be sure that our clients have a safe and enjoyable experience.”

Mountainview Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Clinic is located at 18371 Hurontario Street Unit 8, in Caledon East.
