Local teens got a first-hand glimpse of the rebranded Che’s Place Youth Centre in Bolton recently.

More than 80 young people from across Caledon, in Grades 7 to 9, visited the centre during a grand re-opening, hosted by Youth Activists Inc. The reception for the centre was met with positivity from both kids and parents alike, according to director Dmytro Basmat. He said they were happy that Caledon students now have a space to hang out in a fun, inclusive setting. Political dignitaries from all over Caledon dropped by to extend their warm regards at Centre’s reopening.

The Youth Centre will now continue its operations on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the year from 7-11 p.m. at 30 Martha St. in Bolton. Youth Activists Inc. hopes to now launch its youth leadership program focusing on leadership development for Caledon’s high school students.

“We are actively seeking volunteers at this time to assist with facilitating both programs,” Basmat said.

Basmat and Youth Activists Inc. now run the centre and will he will soon introduce new programming and leadership skills development camps and programs, under the Youth Activists Inc. umbrella.
