If you love yourself some dirt tracks and the smell of gasoline, then you would have loved last Friday’s annual Truck and Tractor Pull in Bolton.

This year’s event took place on June 28 at the Albion Bolton Fairgrounds from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. The event is not-for-profit. Over the past few decades, the Albion and Bolton Agriculture Society has donated roughly $50, 000 back into the community as a result of their annual community events.

The event cost was $20 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under, however, no dogs, bikes, or skateboards were allowed on the fairgrounds

The truck and tractor pull has grown tremendously from a small local tractor pull to a massive community festival for all ages.

Albion and Bolton Agriculture Society established the Bolton Truck and Tractor Pull in 1978 to celebrate the community’s heritage, history and diversity. Their mission as a not-for-profit organization is to bring rural and urban communities in the town together through exhibitions and competitions.

The volunteers at the agricultural society are a group of over 160 who spend most of the year preparing for the Truck & Tractor Pull and other large events that bring both this town’s rural and urban people together.

The event serves as a competition with , with pullers competing against one another to see who can pull the tractor the furthest. But — to enter into the contest all pullers must have a membership card, for insurance purposes.

There are two types of memberships: full circuit membership, which is $40, or associate membership that only entitles the holder to one day of pulling costing $15.

If you missed this year’s Truck and Tractor Pull, make sure you come out to the 161st Annual Bolton Fall in September 20 to 22, hosted by the Albion and Bolton Agriculture Society.
