Do you get anxious visiting the Dentist?

Soni Dental Group recently opened in Caledon Village and specializes in relieving your stress and anxiety during your visit.

The owners of the business are Dr. Sameer Soni and his wife Dr. Jasleen Soni, who he met in university. They each graduated from their dentistry programs in India in 2007 and have been practicing for roughly 12 years now.

In 2014 both Mr. and Mrs. Soni came to Canada to start their new journey. In order for them to practice in Canada however, they had to sit and pass an exam, which they both cleared “by God’s grace on first attempt,” said Mr. Soni

Mr. Soni started out as a dentist in Canada back in 2015, with his wife beginning work in 2017. They were employed at the same dental centre in Brampton up until July 2018, when they opened their own practice together.

“We enjoy our job and we clearly enjoy working because both of us believe if you really enjoy what you do, only then you can succeed in that,” said Mrs. Soni.

In a little over a year, the couple have essentially built their practice from scratch, beginning with only a handful of clients, who followed from their previous practice. Today, Soni Dental Group boasts more than 100 patients from the local community.

One challenge that has come up is the scattered community in which they are located. As well, Caledon Village is not very densely populated.

“People sometimes they don’t know there is another dentist that exists inside the village itself,” explained Mr. Soni.

Putting a focus on providing a stress-relieving environmen for patients, the Sonis have developed their very own “comfort menu” for patients, consisting of a leg massage, lip balm, coffee and snack bar, wet hot towels, your choice of TV, noise cancelling headphones, and a pillow and blanket.

Almost like it was meant to be: Mr. Soni comes from a family of dentists, his grandfather opened a clinic in India 60 year ago and where his dad works as a dentist.

Lately, the Soni’s have seen a growth in patients in the last two months. They are hoping it is from all the promoting they have been doing since they opened, as well they are offering $100 teeth whiting special for graduating students.

“We’re happy here,” said Mrs. Soni.
