April 11, 2019   ·   0 Comments

Popular gardening guru Julia Dimakos will be making a repeat appearance at the Bolton & District Horticultural Society’s April 16th general meeting.

Also known as the Gardening Girl from her blog and Facebook page, Dimakos will be speaking on “succession planting.”

The presentation will cover what to plant from early spring through to fall, including how to plant on a rotation to maximize the planting space. Other topics will include intercropping, companion planting, and the staggered planting method.

This will be the second time Dimakos has been a featured Society guest speaker. At a meeting last year she shared some her methods in obtaining the best results in vegetable growing

Dimakos started gardening after having children and fell in love with growing food for her family. She gardens organically and tries to keep it simple, while growing new and uncommon vegetables every year.

She is currently working on her Horticulturist Diploma through the University of Guelph and is president of the Orangeville and District Horticultural Society. For more information about her visit: www.juliadimakos.com

The meeting will be held at Rotary Place in Bolton (behind the Wellness Centre) and will start at 7.30 pm. Admission is for non-members is by donation and free for B&DHS members.
