Bolton man dies after collision with dump truck

A 55-year-old Bolton man lost his life after crashing with a dump truck on Hwy 27 on Wednesday, Oct. 10.

York Regional Police investigators are looking for witnesses following the collision that involved a motorcycle in the township of King, according to a media release.

Officers responded shortly after 7 p.m., at the north of 17th Sideroad. The motorcycle rider died at the scene.

The driver of the dump truck was not injured. The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision, are being asked to please come forward.

Investigation leads to arrests

Two Bolton man are facing a number of drug charges that include drug trafficking following an OPP investigation.

The inquiry began in September. Police executed a warrant at a residence on Lismer Crescent where a large quantity of drugs, cash and two replica firearms were seized.

A 29-year-old man is charged with possession cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of opioids for the purpose of trafficking (other than heroin), possession of cannabis of over 30 grams, and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

He is schedule to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on Oct. 16.

A 67-year-old man is charged with possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of opioids (other than heroin) for the purpose of trafficking and possession of cannabis of over 30 grams.

He is schedule to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on Nov. 5.

Stolen vehicle involved in a crash

A 55-year-old mother and her 35-year-old daughter sustained major injuries after a crash at the intersection of Dixie Road and Old School Road on Saturday, Oct. 13.

Caledon OPP reported to the incident at about 4 p.m. A stolen SUV was travelling westbound when it collided with a sedan moving eastbound.

Officers arrested five men that fled from the SUV on foot after the crash. One adult and four youth were charged and arrested.

A 20-year-old man from Brampton has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – in Canada, two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, two counts of driving while impaired causing bodily harm (motor vehicle-alcohol), and two counts of failing to stop at the scene of accident involving bodily harm.

He was also charged with the following provincial offences: driving while under suspension and failing to render assistance.

A 17-year-old teenager from Brampton has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – in Canada and two counts of failing to comply with recognizance.

Two 16-year-old teenagers from Brampton have both been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – in Canada.

A 15 year-old teenager from Caledon was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – in Canada, two counts of failing to comply with recognizance and two counts of failing to comply with sentence.

Caledon OPP is appealing to the public for additional witnesses of this collision. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact (905) 584-2241.
