There was a time not long ago when Midnight Madness was a go-to event downtown. They had lots to do and see, but for a number of reasons it ended.

Until now, that is. It’s returning bigger and better than ever, so as they say, let’s

see what all the fuss is about.

Hosted and coordinated by Stage Academy in honour of their 10th anniversary, along with Bolton’s Community Crew, Bolton’s summer tradition is making its comeback on Friday, Aug. 10.  From 6 – 11:45 p.m., the Stage Academy invites the area to focus on community engagement in Bolton’s downtown core.

There are three major event locations, each offering different free entertainment from local businesses and community groups. Located in the Allen Drive plaza, students from Music 21 will be performing live. At the top of the hill, the fairgrounds will be host to an antique car and bike show. The main stage variety show, at the intersection of King and Highway 50 (with roads closed up to Mill Street), will feature live local bands, vendors and entertainment for children.

Free transportation is offered, with a shuttle bus making rounds from Allen Drive to the fairgrounds to King Street throughout the evening.

Please note that roads will be closed for setup at 4:30 p.m. and re-opened at midnight.

The event promises something for everyone, and a reason to come together under the stars for a memorable summer night. Enjoy an evening with family, friends and neighbours that includes  a variety of foods, shopping at local vendors and live entertainment. Everyone is welcome and all ages are encouraged to attend.

Stage Academy is proud to present the event in coordination with the Region of Peel, the Bolton Community Crew, and all their volunteers.  Annette Groves is responsible for spearheading the committee and assisting with fund raising and coordination of events. Focusing on educational theatre for youth, Stage Academy hopes the new Midnight Madness will be part of their annual season for years to come.
