Library celebrates 10-years of Young Reels Film Festival

For 10 years, Caledon Public Library (CPL) has successfully hosted the Young Reels Film Festival.
It's a platform to showcase short films from local teens, offering them a chance to win monetary prizes and gain recognition for their talent and hard work.
As this important milestone approaches, CPL welcomes all past participants and winners to attend the festival and to share their words of wisdom with the next generation of creators.
CPL's Young Reels Film Festival is a model for community engagement, a celebration of youth culture, and a showcase for the richness and diversity of a new generation of filmmakers. The films represent the voice of youth, sharing their vision, covering all topics, from important public service messages, to hilarious and uplifting.
“This year is set to be our most exciting yet,” according to Laura Groe, manager of Youth Services for CPL. “Over the past 10 years, we have been honoured to provide the opportunity for young artists to share their work, often providing the catalyst for them to pursue careers in the film industry. We are looking forward to seeing past and present participants come together to appreciate the art of film.”
The festival will take place April 10 at the Albion-Bolton branch of CPL. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with film screenings starting at 7. There will be a party with refreshments to follow. Friends, family and the public are welcome to attend, with tickets being sold for $10 at the door.
