Plan of subdivision is being proposed for Mayfield West

PMG Planning Consultants has applied for approval of a draft plan of subdivision and a rezoning that would permit 677 homes being built in Mayfield West.
The proposed development is slated for 12461 McLaughlin Rd. (just north of Mayfield Road). The plan is to include 104 detached houses, 164 semi-detached units, 100 on-street townhouses, 137 rear-laneway townhouses and a high-density residential block containing approximately 172 apartments. In addition, there are proposals to create a 1.46-hectare village square block, a 1.30-hectare railway buffer block, a one-hectare stormwater management facility and associated access blocks, as well as various blocks for community parks and greenland buffer areas.
The proposed rezoning would change the lands from agricultural to mixed density residential with exceptions, village core commercial with exceptions, environmental policy areas and open space.
The Town of Caledon has announced there is no public meeting scheduled at this time to deal with the proposal. Further notification will be provided of a public meeting once it has been scheduled.
