Trailing teams show some muscle in seniors’ hockey

Last Monday was a time for upsets in the Caledon Senior Hockey League.
Last-place Fines Ford Lincoln kicked off the Cinderella night with an 8-6 win over Rutherford Global Logistics, who were seven points ahead of them in the standings. Then Jiffy Lube Oilers walloped the first-place Yale Industrial Trucks 7-2, handing them their second loss in a row. That was followed by the Grit Bag Men downing second-place Heart Lake Insurance 6-4 in the finale at Don Sheardown Memorial Arena.
Fines Ford 8, Rutherford 6
Mike Foley was a one-man wrecking crew for Fines with three goals and four assists.
Also on fire was Alex Dorosh, who scored four goals. George Armstrong had one goal and one assist. Bret Smith chipped in three assists while Luch Pinarello had one.
Ron Sampson led the Rutherford offence with three goals. Jim Kutchera scored twice while Garry Hoxey had a goal and two assists. Jim Rogers matched Sampson in points with three assists. Single helpers went to team rep Nick Taccogna, Bruno Fracassi, Rich Petrie and Scott Sinclair.
Grit 6, Heart Lake Insurance 4
Kyle Smith and Jim Sabaziotis led the way for Grit with two goals each.
Tony Curcio provided a goal and an assist. Scott Drouillard scored the other goal. John Pitsadiotis bagged two assists with Carlo Fantin and Mike Shore getting one each.
Tim Sinclair paced the Insurance boys with two goals while Steve Tarasco had a goal and an assist. Jamie Hardman scored the other goal. Paul Agius and Jamie McDonald both had two assists. Single assists went to Rod Sinclair and Howard Wight.
Jiffy Lube 7, Yale 2
Greg Frangakis was the top scorer for Jiffy Lube with three goals.
Marty Madensky added two goals while Mike Lo Dico and Grant Moffat each scored once and had one assist. Rick Geiger notched two assists with singles going to Clark Chung, Gary Hughes, team rep Peter Coghill and Pete McNamara.
Bill Davis and Brian Samuel scored for Yale. Tony Dinis, Steve Smith, team rep James Heenan and Frank Cirone all had one assist.
