Yale loss tightens senior standings


Heart Lake Insurance knocked off top dog Yale Industrial Trucks 6-3 last Monday night in Caledon Senior Hockey League action.
In the other games at Don Sheardown Memorial Arena, the Grit Bagmen up-ended Rutherford Global Logistics 5-3 and the Jiffy Lube Oilers downed Fines Ford Lincoln 5-3.
Heart Lake 6, Yale 3
Jamie Hardman and team rep Ian Kerr led the Heart Lake attack.
Hardman had two goals and one assist while Kerr scored twice. Steve Tarasco and John Castellucci contributed a goal and an assist each. Paul Agius had two assists and Mike McNamara had one.
Steve Smith scored twice for Yale while team rep James Heenan had the other one. Tony Dinis and Dan Tasson had one helper each.
Grit 5, Rutherford 3
Tony Curcio led the way for Grit with two goals.
The others came from Kyle Smith, John Pitsadiotis and team rep David Shoalts. Team sponsor Greg Collins set up two goals with single assists going to John Crossley, Jim Sabaziotis and rookie Scott Drouillard, who made his CSHL debut by setting up Shoalts for the winning goal.
Jiffy Lube 5, Fines Ford 3
Mike Lo Dico was on fire for Jiffy Lube with three goals.
Grant Moffat and Gary Hughes scored the other goals. Rick Geiger bagged two assists while Marty Madensky, team rep Peter Coghill and Clark Chung had one each.
George Armstrong led Fines with a goal and an assist. Ted Callighen and Dom D'Orazio scored the other goals. Luch Pinarello had two assists and Dave Armstrong had one.
