Oilers take over third in senior hockey standings

The Jiffy Lube Oilers swamped Rutherford Global Logistics 9-0 last Monday night to take over third place from them in the Caledon Senior Hockey League.
In other league play at Don Sheardown Memorial Arena, the Grit Bagmen almost knocked off the first-place Yale Industrial Trucks but lost a 7-6 decision while second-place Heart Lake Insurance outlasted Fines Ford Lincoln 7-5.

Jiffy Lube 9, Rutherford 0
A couple of career nights were had in the Jiffy Lube win, as Mike Lo Dico racked up six assists and Rick Geiger scored four goals and added an assist.
Grant Moffat was right behind them with a goal and three assists. Pete McNamara scored two goals. Clark Chung and team rep Peter Coghill contributed a goal and an assist each, while team sponsor Brian Fetterly had two assists. The shutout went to goaltender Vanni DiMarco.
Yale 7, Grit 6
Steve Smith scored three consecutive goals to ice the win for Yale.
Team rep James Heenan finished with three assists. Bob McHardy had a goal and an assist. The other goals were scored by Tony Dinis, Bernie Tisdale and Frank Cirone. Dan Tasson finished with two assists while Santo Gazzolla had one.
Grit fought back with two goals in the last three minutes, but could not manage the tying marker. Tony Curcio led the way for Grit with two goals and two assists. Team sponsor Greg Collins had two goals and an assist. John Crossley scored once and was in brackets on two more. The other goal was scored by team rep David Shoalts. Kyle Smith, Joe Guaragna and Jim Sabaziotis all had two assists.
Heart Lake 7, Fines Ford 5
Jamie Hardman and Mike McNamara paced Heart Lake with two goals and two assists each.
Peter Kuchar was right with them with a goal and three assists. The other goals were scored by Steve Tarasco and team sponsor Chris Spilar. Rod Sinclair led the assists parade with two while singles went to Tim Sinclair, Frank McKay and team rep Ian Kerr.
Team rep Ted Callighen had a goal and two assists for Fines. Mike Foley had one of each. Dom D’Orazio and Alex Dorosh also scored. Stefan Pacula and Dave Armstrong each had one assist.
