Playoff season is upon us on the minor hockey schedule, and with it comes an impressive 22 Caledon teams looking to become provincial champions.
The Ontario Minor Hockey Association playdowns kicked off last week with round-robin action in the Tri-County league, the winners of which will move on to battle the best-of-the-best from across the province.
The novice AA Hawks set off to a great start with a pair of wins over the Stoney Creek Warriors and a win over the Niagara Falls Flyers, while the minor peewee AA squad has also picked up three wins of their own.
The atom AE squad has all but booked their trip to the next round with four straight wins to open the tournament, over Centre Wellington, Ancaster, and a pair of wins over Halton Hills.
First round action runs until the first week in February.
