Peel’s yard waste collection ends


The Region of Peel's yard waste collection is ending.
In Caledon, the bi-weekly yard waste collection in urban areas will end the weeks of Dec. 4 and 11, on residents' regularly scheduled recycling days. The last rural Caledon collection is Dec. 15.
Residents are encouraged to visit peelregion.ca/waste to check the “When Does it Go” collection calendar for their last yard waste collection day.
Residents should place all small bundles of brush, kraft paper bags or containers of yard waste at the curb on their collection day. They are also advised to follow these instructions:
• Small bundles of yard waste and brush must not exceed 1.2 metres (four feet)in length, 76 centimetres (30 inches) in diameter and weigh no more than 20 kilograms (44 pounds).
• Individual branches and tree limbs must not exceed 1.2 metres in length and 7.5 centimetres (3 inches) in diameter and weigh no more than 20 kilograms.
• Yard waste should be placed in labelled, open, rigid and reusable containers, bushel baskets, or paper yard waste bags. It will not be collected if it is set out in plastic bags, recycling boxes, or cardboard boxes, or it is in a container that weighs more than 20 kilograms.
