Standings tighten a bit in senior leagueRutherford Global Logistics cruised to their third consecutive Caledon Senior Hockey League win last Monday night (Oct. 30) with a 7-4 decision over the Jiffy Lube Oilers. That left them just one point off the league-leading Yale Industrial Trucks, who were held to a 4-4 draw by the Grit Bagmen. Meanwhile, Heart Lake Insurance blitzed Fines Ford Lincoln 6-2. Rutherford 7, Jiffy Lube 4 Team rep Nick Taccogna led the points parade with four assists. Bruno Fracassi and Nick Pistilli were right behind with two goals and one assist each. Ron Sampson had one goal and two assists. Jim Dunbar also scored. Mark Perrin had two assists with one each going to Jim Rogers and Jim Kutchera. Greg Frangakis scored three goals for Jiffy Lube while Mike Lo Dico had the other one. George Armstrong and Marty Madensky both notched two helpers. Rick Geiger, Gary Hughes and Maurizo Giorgio each had one assist. Grit 4, Yale 4 Steve Smith scored two goals for Yale, including the tying marker with 6:43 left in the game. Bob McHardy and team rep James Heenan scored the other goals. Joe (The Barber) Guaragna and Tony Dinis both set up two goals. Robert Masutti had one helper. Team sponsor Greg Collins scored twice for Grit while Mike (Dr. Bend) Shore had a goal and an assist. Team rep David Shoalts scored the other goal. Single assists went to Jim Sabaziotis, John Crossley, Kyle Smith and Randy Freitag. Heart Lake 6, Fines Ford 2 Steve Tarasco was the big shooter for Heart Lake with two goals and an assist. Jamie Hardman and Mike McNamara chipped in a goal and two assists each. Team rep Ian Kerr struck for a goal and an assist while Tim Sinclair scored the other goal. John Castellucci had one assist. Dom D'Orazio and Mike Foley scored for Fines Ford. Single assists went to Dave Armstrong, Joe Palumbo and Luch Pinarello. |
