Drinking and driving charge

Failure to signal a lane change resulted in a 36-year-old woman from Beaverton being charged Oct. 22.
Caledon OPP reports an officer was on patrol in the Bolton area shortly after 2 a.m. when he saw a black 2006 Saturn Vue fail to signal the lane change on Emil Kolb Parkway, west of Regional Road 50.
The car was pulled over, and the officer noticed the smell alcohol on the driver’s breath. He demanded a sample of her breath, and it registered a fail, resulting in her arrest.
The woman was charged with driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in her system and driving with an open container of liquor.
Her licence was suspended on the spot for 90 days and the car was impounded for seven days.
