Stunt driving charge on Mayfield

October 23, 2017   ·   0 Comments

A 23-year-old man from Brampton is facing a couple of charges, including racing a motor vehicle, after an Oct. 14 incident on Mayfield Road.
Caledon OPP reports an officer was conducting radar enforcement west of Bramalea Road at about 11:40 p.m. when he saw a red 2006 Audi travelling well in excess of the speed limit.
The officer activated the radar unit and determined the speed of the vehicle to be 108 km-h in a posted 50 zone.
In addition to the racing charge, the man was charged with driving while under suspension and driving with open liquor in the car.
His licence was suspended for seven days, and the car was impounded.
Police report that speeding, following too close, making unsafe lane changes and failing to yield right-of-way are all forms of aggressive driving that place road users at risk, and they are determined to work to stop them.
