Hoping for good weather for 159th edition — Bolton Fall Fair will be going this weekend

Celebrating True North Strong and marking Canada’s 150th anniversary will be in evidence in Bolton this weekend.
The Albion and Bolton Agricultural Society will be putting on the 159th annual Bolton Fall Fair.
It will be at the Fairgrounds at the top of Bolton’s south hill.
The activities will start tonight (Thursday) with the Midway being open for Toonie Night from 6 p.m. until midnight.
The weekend will feature a host of the traditional agricultural displays and exhibits, but there will be a lot of other attractions that are sure to bring in the crowds.
The Junior and Senior Fair Ambassadors will be named Friday evening, and that will be followed by the Demolition Derby, which is slated to get going at 7:30 p.m., rain or shine.
Saturday will feature a Flower Show, Dairy Show and Sheep Show, and there will be other fun activities. The Caledon Cruisers will have some impressive cars on display. There will be a 4-H Garden Tractor Pull starting at 3 p.m., and a Truck Pull which is set to go at 7:30. There will also be Farm Olympics, eating contests and arm wrestling competitions.
Saturday will also see a community roast beef dinner at 6 p.m.
Sunday will open with a Pancake Breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by a community church service at 9:30. There will also be the Kiddie Pedal Pull, Goat Show, Cow Plop Bingo, milking demonstrations, a Beef Show, tug of war and a Parade of Tractors.
The Fair will also include some lumberjack entertainment, as well as exotic reptiles and other animals.
Frank and Chandra Leahy and family will be on stage Sunday with their ever impressive fiddle playing and step dancing.
On top of that, there will be lots of food, entertainment, displays, information and other amusements, along with other fun stuff.
Admission will be $10 for adults, and $5 for children younger Friday and Saturday, and $2 Sunday.
