Back to school excitement is in the air at PAMA

In September, the Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) welcomes two new exhibitions.
Blue God and the Serpents is a multi-media exhibition by Brampton-based artist Sharada K. Eswar and her team. There will also be 150 Muslim Contributions to Canada, an exhibit showcasing the arts of the Muslim community.
Back to school excitement is in the air and PAMA has affordable, quality programming for the entire family, plus teachers and students. Just a reminder that general admission is $5 for adults, $4 for students/seniors, and $12 for families (two adults and up to five kids). Children aged five and younger get in for free.
The people at PAMA are striving to create safe and inclusive spaces to share in the stories of the diverse community. All are invited to explore, create and connect with arts and culture and learn about one another.
New this fall, PAMA is offering a Crafts Workshop Series at a new low price. Beads and Buttons kicks things off in September.
Don't miss out on the fantastic Culture Days and Doors Open Brampton schedule at PAMA with exciting activities and fabulous partners, such as MonstARTity and the Festival of Literary Diversity (FOLD).
PAMA is grateful to all its visitors for their patience and understanding while the parking lot is closed for improvements. Parking is available at nearby municipal lots and on bordering streets where permitted.

This exhibit will run from Sept. 30 to Jan. 28, with an opening event Sept. Sept. 20, from 2 to 5 p.m., and an opening performance Sept. 30 from 3 to 4 p.m.
This unique exhibition by Eswar and her collaborative team of Sonja C. Rainey and Rup Sidhu, is a multi-media art project conceived as shadow puppet theatre. Blue God and the Serpents blends sound, music, text, imagery, shadow puppetry and movement.
150 Muslim Contributions to Canada
The exhibition will run from Sept. 30 to Jan. 21, with an opening event Oct. 5, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Encouraging positive dialogue and understanding, this exhibition also showcases the rich heritage and growth of the Muslim community over the last 150 years. This exhibit is a project of MuslimFest and is funded by the Ontario 150 Celebration Program.
There is also a last chance to see Peel 150: Stories of Canada, on now until Oct. 15.
Visitors had asked that it be extended. The exhibition deals with black enslavement in Upper Canada and the black community in Peel in the late 19th century. It is on now until mid-2018.
