Much happening for Canada Day

The Caledon Agricultural Society will be hosting its 26th annual Caledon Canada Day Strawberry Festival.
It will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Caledon Fairgrounds on Highway 10 in Caledon village.
Admission will be free, and the day will include free birthday cake and balloons at noon, a Classic Car Show, all-day strawberry breakfast, as well as a barbecue and strawberry desserts. There will also be a village craft show and vendor village.

Downey’s Farm Market will be hosting its annual Strawberry Festival.
It will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 13682 Heart Lake Rd.
It will be a day of celebrating Canada’s 150 birthday with live music from several local groups, exciting and thrilling activities, and even a dog show. Admission and parking is free.
It will start at 9 a.m. with a pancake breakfast, complete with strawberries and whipped cream for $8 per person. The live entertainment will include Bob’s Banjo Band, the Abracadabra Magic show at 1 p.m. and Team K-9 dog shows at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
There will also be a play area, goat walk, farm animals, pony rides, and more.

Celebrate Canada Day with Headwaters Arts at Alton Mill.
Visit the Headwaters Arts Gallery between 1 and 4 p.m. for some birthday treats and then spend the evening under the stars with Alton’s prodigal son Ryan Masters, Falcon Jane and The Justin MacDonald Band — three amazing performances under one tent.
This will be a fundraiser for Headwaters Arts. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
Raised by a family of bluegrass musicians, Justin McDonald has been playing his own familiar brand of soulful rock and roll in and around Dufferin County for more than a decade.
Masters has made a name for himself, not only for his prolific and deeply personal songwriting but as a talented independent filmmaker. His latest film Pilgrim premiered im 2016.
Having recently returned from an east coast tour in support of their latest release Alive n Well, Orangeville’s Falcon Jane are excited to welcome two new members to their lineup this summer.
Tickets are $13 in advance and $18 at the door. They are available online or in person at Aardvark Music and Culture at 229 Broadway, Unit 11, Orangeville, Headwaters Arts Gallery at Alton Mill Arts Centre at 1402 Queen St., Alton and Maggiolly Art Supplies at 158 Broadway.

Celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday with spectacular fireworks and family fun activities at Albion Hills Conservation Area
Activities will include a magic show, face painting, inflatable fun zone, Bubba the Clown, birds of prey, a high skilled dog performance show, a pool and splash pad, live stage music and more, followed of course by a fantastic fireworks display after dark.

A Canada Day celebration will take place at Island Lake Conservation Area near Orangeville from 2 until 10 p.m.
It will be free, and it will include a variety of activities, including a park-wide scavenger hunt, souvenir making at the wood branding station and axe throwing from 2 to 6:30 p.m., and a concert by The Campfire Poets from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. That will be followed by fireworks at 10.
There will be an official opening ceremony and ribbon cutting at the waterfront amphitheatre at 5:30 p.m.

Knox United Church in Caledon village will host it’s annual strawberry supper. It will run from 4 until 7 p.m.
The cost will be $15 for adults and $8 got children aged five to 12.
