Toby Jug Athletes of the Week — June 1, 2017


Mayfield Secondary School
Erika Degabriele
This 16-year-old has been contributing her skills to the school's varsity fast pitch team. She plays shortstop, and they've won all four of their games, with the mercy rule being imposed each time. Away from school, she plays fast pitch in the Barrie Storm organization. The Grade 10 student lives in Brampton.



Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School
Nick Kozelj
This Grade 12 student was playing centre back on the senior boys' soccer team, which made it to the quarter-finals. He also plays singles tennis at school. In the community, he plays rep soccer for the Caledon Bulldogs in the Ontario Youth Soccer League. The 18-year-old lives in ValleyWood.



St. Michael Catholic Secondary School
Matt Baldesarra
The 16-year-old plays defence on the senior boys' soccer team, which will be taking the field in Stoney Creek today to play in OFSAA. In the community, he plays rep soccer for the Bolton Wanderers' organization, as well as rep hockey for the Caledon Hawks. The Grade 11 student lives in Bolton.



Humberview Secondary School
Ashley Hutchins
This Grade 9 student has been a big part of the school's badminton team. She plays singles and went undefeated for the season. The team made it to the playoffs. In the community, she plays out of Robert F. Hall school in Caledon East and she trains at Lee's Badminton in Mississauga. She said she likes the challenge the game presents. The 14-year-old lives in Bolton.
