Waste exemption period offered for garbage day

May 17, 2017   ·   0 Comments

From May 23 until June 1, Peel residents are offered a waste exemption period for their regularly scheduled garbage collection day.
Residents are encouraged to visit peelregion.ca/waste to check their collection calendar for their garbage exemption day.
During the waste exemption period, residents who receive curbside collection can place unlimited amounts of acceptable excess garbage at the curb without garbage bag tags.
Each excess garbage bag cannot weigh more than 20 kilograms (44 pounds), be larger than 66 centimetres (26 inches) wide and 90 centimetres (35 inches) high, and be smaller than 30 centimetres (12 inches) wide and 30 centimetres (12 inches) high.
Residents must ensure there is at least one metre of space between their excess bags and their garbage and organics carts.
Excess garbage will not be collected if it is placed at the curb recycling week.
