Male arrested for racing and dangerous driving

December 2, 2016   ·   0 Comments

An officer from Caledon OPP was conducting radar enforcement in the area of Charleston Sideroad and Willoughby Road Oct. 15 and observed a silver Honda travelling at a high rate of speed.
The officer conducted a traffic stop.
A 21-year-old man from Brampton was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and racing a motor vehicle. The car was impounded for seven days as a result of the stunt driving charge.
Driving 50 or more kilometres per hour over the posted speed limit is one of the most serious and reckless forms of aggressive driving, according to police. OPP supports street racing/stunt driving legislation and other legislation aimed at saving lives and taking drivers who engage in these high risk activities off the road.
