Talk of the Town by Mayor Allan Thompson — Events coming up to offer input

October 31, 2016   ·   0 Comments

I’m always looking for ways to better communicate and share information, whether its through my newsletters, social media or when I’m out and about in the community.
I decided to start a blog as a way to express my personal thoughts and to sometimes just get things off my chest.
The opinions in the blog are mine alone. Take a look at the recent post on smart communities.
I guess I’m now officially a “Blogger.”
Upcoming Events
The Mayor’s Business Lunch will be Nov. 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Albion-Bolton Community Centre
I am so excited about the upcoming event. We’ve partnered with culinary students from five area high schools who have developed an incredible menu featuring locally grown or produced foods.
We will also feature a panel discussion using the culinary ecosystem as an example of creating strategic partnerships. And as always there will lots of time to network and have conversation.
Tickets are $15.00 each (plus tax and fees) and they are going fast.
The dates are set for the fall Coffee with Council sessions.
In Ward 2, it will be Nov. 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mayfield Recreation Centre at 12087 Bramalea Rd.
In Ward 1, it will be Nov. 19 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Lloyd Wilson Arena, 15551 McLaughlin Rd. in Inglewood.
For Wards 3, 4 and 5, it will be Nov. 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness.
This is an opportunity to have a conversation with your councillors and with me on municipal matters and to have your say on the Town’s 2017 Budget.
I hope to see you there.Allan thompson
