Mayfield Secondary School Shannon Bury This 14-year-old is making her mark as a guard on the junior girls’ basketball team, which won its first match of the season 31-17. She’s hoping to try out for the school’s volleyball team in the winter, and go out for track and field in the spring, specializing in the javelin and shot put. In the community, she plays rep basketball in the Caledon Cougars’ organization. The Grade 9 student lives in the Caledon village area.

Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School Nicole Fitzpatrick The Grade 9 student plays doubles tennis at school with her brother Braeden. She’s been involved in one tournament so far this year, which ended in victory. She’s also planning to try out for the volleyball team, and take part in track and field in the spring, with her eye set on the shot put. Away from school, she plays tennis at Headwaters Racquet Club in Orangeville and has played rep volleyball at ACTS Elites. The 14-year-old lives in Mono.

She’s hoping to play soccer at school in the spring. Away from school, she plays with the Kleinburg Nobleton Soccer Club. The Grade 10 student lives in Bolton.

Humberview Secondary School Hayden Saunders This Grade 11 student is a golfer who recently took part in the ROPSSAA championship tournament. He shot an 84, which was good enough for a tie for 12th place in a field of 44. He’s planning to play right wing on the school’s varsity hockey team. In the community, he plays rep hockey in the Caledon Hawks’ organization and plays golf at Glen Eagle. He also used to play lacrosse. The 15-year-old lives in Bolton.
