Mayfield Secondary School Caila Mascoll-Sylvester This Grade 9 student plays centre back on the junior girls’ soccer team. They have earned a spot in the playoffs, which are about to start. Away from school, she plays rep soccer for Brams United in Brampton. “Soccer’s my favourite sport,” she said. “Ever since I was little, I’ve been playing it.” The 14-year-old lives in Strawberry Fields.

Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School Sarah Trilesky This 17-year-old plays midfield for the school’s varsity field lacrosse team, which earned a semifinal berth at ROPSSAA. She also played defence for the varsity ice hockey team, which made it to the semifinals of ROPSSAA, and she played varsity flag football in the fall. In the community, she plays rep hockey in the Brampton Canadettes’ organization. The Grade 11 student lives in the Inglewood area.

This 17-year-old plays midfield for the school’s varsity field lacrosse team, which earned a semifinal berth at ROPSSAA. She also played defence for the varsity ice hockey team, which made it to the semifinals of ROPSSAA, and she played varsity flag football in the fall. In the community, she plays rep hockey in the Brampton Canadettes’ organization. The Grade 11 student lives in the Inglewood area.

St. Michael Catholic Secondary School Nick Fernati The 16-year-old is playing goal for the senior boys’ soccer team, and helped get them to the semifinals at ROPSSAA by stopping a penalty kick in the last minute of the quarter-final game. Away from school, he plays rep soccer with the Woodbridge Strikers. He’s been playing soccer since he was four. “It’s my favourite thing to do,” he said. The Grade 11 student lives in Bolton.

He also played middle on the senior boys’ volleyball team, which won at ROPSSAA. In the community, he played club volleyball at Acts Elites in Orangeville last year. The 18-year-old lives in Bolton.
