Police looking for tech-savvy people

OPP will be hosting a Technology Policing Symposium March 5 at Sheridan College (Davis Campus) at 7899 McLaughlin Rd., Brampton.
The symposium is scheduled to take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
OPP is looking to hire recent or potential graduates from Ontario community colleges or universities, or applicants who have related training or experience in technology-based applications. Candidates will be required to submit an online application form. Upon review, 50 applicants will be selected to attend this once in a lifetime opportunity and will be invited to learn what it takes to become a Provincial constable in today’s OPP.
Keynote speakers will include Staff Sergeant Vern Crowley from the OPP Electronic Crime Section — Technological Crime Unit, along with frontline OPP officers, officers who work in specialized units within the OPP, the Special Constable Program, Auxiliary Unit and Provincial Communication Dispatchers.
Applications must be completed online and received no later than 11:59 p.m. Feb. 11. Late applications will not be considered. Further details are available online at www.opp.ca/careers
