February 3, 2016   ·   0 Comments

Join Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel as they host their largest fundraiser of the year — Tim Hortons Bowl for Kids Sake.
It’s a time for the community to gather together to have fun and raise funds to ensure that every child who needs a mentor has one. This year’s goal is to raise $180,000 through five different bowling events across Peel Region.
The Caledon event will take place at Skyview Lanes in Bolton Feb. 28 from 2 to 4 p.m.
“Inspiring and empowering the children and youth in our community to grow into healthy, contributing adults is one of the most important things we can do as citizens,” commented the event’s Honorary Chairperson, Peel Regional Police Chief Jennifer Evans. “For 49 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been helping to provide mentoring and supportive relationships to the children and youth in Peel Region. Last year alone, they provided mentoring programs to over 1,500 children and youth, yet there are still over 200 children who are waiting.”
“One of the best ways that you can help to ensure these 200 children are matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister is by participating in their largest fundraiser of the year — Tim Hortons Bowl for Kids Sake,” Evans added, urging people to register for one of the five events from Feb. 21 to May 9. “Together we will make a positive difference for the youth in Peel Region.”
It’s easy to participate! Just gather five or six friends, family or co-workers, choose a bowling date that is convenient, register by visiting www.bbbspeel.com, and collect pledges. Those who register will receive a bowling kit complete with details and access to pledge forms.
The theme this year is Superhero’s, so plan your Superhero attire. Bowlers who raise more than $200 will receive a Tim Hortons TimCARD and many other incentive prizes are also up for grabs, including the opportunity to win a new laptop or 60-inch Sharp LED TV.
